What is this partnership about?
This is a strategic collaborative model between the Spanish Society of Precision Health (SESAP) and the company Overgenes, where the concept of Multiscale Genetic Algorithms and the collaborative model of 5P Health (Personalised, Predictive, Preventive, Population and Participatory) will be addressed, using the experience of SESAP and the new technology of Overgenes.
In line with the new BigData times, the idea is to create a database that integrates information from the different actors involved (patients, clinical specialists, researchers, laboratories) to generate knowledge and develop “live” and increasingly accurate predictive models.

What is precision health?
One of the current goals in the healthcare sector is to provide personalised patient care using precision health, which is not only limited to traditional diagnostic methods, but takes into account all factors of a patient, including their genetics, social context or lifestyle. This allows for improved diagnosis as well as treatment of diseases.
Precision health is also known as 5P medicine, as it is based on the following 5 points:
- Personalised: With the aim of establishing a specific treatment for each patient individually, using information from the large amount of data currently available thanks to the internet.
- Predictive: Not only will the best possible treatment be pursued, but patients will also be informed of their risk of developing certain diseases.
- Preventive: Based on the patient’s information, the patient will be given certain guidelines for action to minimise the probability of the appearance of the diseases for which the patient is at genetic risk.
- Participative: Not only will the doctor be involved in the patient’s treatment, but the patient himself will also be involved in his own health management, always being properly informed and participating in the decisions that are taken.
- Population: The health system must be efficient in providing personalised medicine services to the entire population, without exceptions.
